It says in Psalms, “God is close to those that are hurting. God is close to the broken hearted.” God knows when you’ve gotten a bad medical report. He knows when you’re struggling in your finances. He knows when you’re being mistreated. You may not see anything happening, but you can be assured that Almighty God is not only aware, He is at work. He already has the solution. If you will stay in faith, at the right time, He will release a flood of His power, a flood of healing, a flood of restoration. He will not only bring you out, He will bring you out better off than you were before!
Former South African President Nelson Mandela, died at the age of 95 this past Thursday. He led one of the most monumentous lives in modern history. This life was closely followed by the media as they followed his excruciating journey of persecution, political imprisonment, and eventually an icon of freedom. He was made a protagonist of hundreds of news stories for the last several decades, as he fought for all kinds of human rights. As can be expected people and news media outlets across the world mourned and commemorated the consequential life of a modern day hero.
Sarafina! - Ending Song (Mandela coming home)
This came up in discussion this weekend. ALWAYS loved her smile. Havent watching this flick in its entirety in a long time. Whoopi Goldberg’s character always reminded me of my mother in this movie. Is this a Broadway play? I want to see this live on Broadway one time.
I just finished listening to the audiobook for A Lone Walk to Freedom, the autobiography of Nelson Mandela in his own words narrated by Michael Boatman. Started it this morning and was on my diligence getting work done throughout the day. Beautiful story. Glad I read it so I can have some better perspective on some of the monumental memorials/tributes we will see over the next week.
Hope yall have had a relaxing and recharging weekend :)
